Multiple Sounder trains delayed after pedestrian hit, killed in Sumner

Multiple Sounder south line trains were delayed after a pedestrian was struck by a train in Sumner.

The train, which was heading north from Lakewood, hit the victim just south of the Sumner Station. The incident was reported by Sound Transit at 5:43 a.m. Tuesday.

Most trains were moving by around 7:20 a.m., but two trains from Seattle were canceled and two from Lakewood remain delayed.

Riders had to take buses or other modes of transportation while the tracks were closed.

Here’s the status of the affected trains as of 7:20 a.m.

NB Train 1502 (5:01am Lakewood dep) – is on the move, approaching Auburn station
NB Train 1504 (5:26am Lakewood dep) – is on the move
NB Train 1506 (5:46am Lakewood dep) – will begin moving soon, will run approximately 15 minutes after prior train
NB Train 1508 (6:06 am Lakewood dep) – will begin moving soon, will run approximately 15 minutes after prior train
NB Train 1510 (6:26am Lakewood dep) – will begin moving soon, will run approximately 15 minutes after prior train
NB Train 1512 (6:46am Lakewood dep) – will be held at Tacoma Dome for Train 1516’s schedule
NB Train 1514 (7:20am Lakewood dep) – is delayed

SB Train 1501 (6:05am Seattle dep) – terminating at Sumner and returning to Seattle
SB Train 1503 (6:35am Seattle dep) – is canceled
