After four years with Seattle Sports, Jake Heaps will be entering a new chapter in his career.

Heaps, who has co-hosted Jake and Stacy with Stacy Rost on Seattle Sports Station 710 AM, announced Wednesday that he will be leaving the show to pursue a once in a lifetime opportunity to be Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson’s full-time personal QB coach.

You can watch Heaps’ announcement in the video embedded at the top of this post.

Heaps is a former All-America high school quarterback from Skyline High School in Sammamish, Wash. After a college career at BYU, Kansas and Miami, he spent time on the rosters of the New York Jets and Seattle Seahawks. It was during his time with the Seahawks that he forged a relationship with Wilson, then Seattle’s franchise QB, and following his playing career Heaps continued to work with Wilson as a personal coach. He is also the longtime head QB coach for the Russell Wilson Quarterback Academy.

Shortly after his playing career, Heaps also started with Seattle Sports first as a regular contributor, then a full-time host, providing a one of a kind perspective from his background as an athlete, coach and analyst.

Stacy Rost will continue in the 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. timeslot Monday-Friday on Seattle Sports with a new co-host starting Monday, June 20. The new co-host will be introduced at 1:30 p.m. Thursday during the final edition of Jake and Stacy.

We at Seattle Sports thank Jake for his invaluable contributions to the station, wish him nothing but the best in the next chapter of his career, and look forward to continuing our relationship with him in the future.
