The Washington State Patrol says a woman on a motorcycle and a passenger car pulled over to the left lane of the freeway not far from the King-Pierce County border in Milton at Emerald Street. A physical altercation ensued between a 23-year-old woman (the motorcyclist) and a 60-year-old male driver shortly before 5 p.m. Witnesses told KIRO 7 they saw the two fighting on the ground and that the man punched the woman. After the punch, the woman pulled a gun and shot the man.
The woman called 911 immediately after firing the gun. She was arrested and released without charges. The case remains under investigation and she could face charges in the future. The Associated Press reports the woman is cooperating with the investigation.
KIRO 7 reports that the man was 60-year-old Bruce Jones of Roy. He died at the scene. Jones had a wife and two grown children.
