520 Bridge to be closed several hours overnight
on December 20, 2012 @ 10:11 am (Updated: 11:13 am - 12/20/12 )Drivers are being warned the 520 Bridge will be closed in both directions beginning at 11 p.m. on Thursday.
The Washington State Department of Transportation says the bridge will be closed to get some maintenance work done before busy holiday travel picks up.
"We're doing this closure ahead of holiday traffic so that we can make sure to get fresh paint stripes, reflectors and barrier reflectors down on the highway," says Andrew Richardson with WSDOT.
The closure will impact the span between Montlake Blvd. and Interstate 405, between milepost 1 and milepost 7.
The bridge is set to reopen at 5 a.m. Friday morning.
