Amanda Knox went to Portland over the weekend to talk about the roller coaster that has been her life the past seven years.

The University of Washington student was there for a conference organized by the Innocence Network, an international group of organizations that work to exonerate the wrongfully accused.

She was one of the individuals spotlighted during the conference.

“I’m feeling less alone here,” Knox told KGW in Portland. “I’m gaining inspiration and knowledge here and I hope to be able to carry that with me as I continue.”

Knox and her ex-boyfriend were tried in Italy for the 2007 for the murder of her roommate, and then convicted in 2009. She was acquitted in 2011.

In January, an Italian court reinstated her guilty verdict. Knox has no plans to return Italy.
