Should Trump have said that if you vote for him ‘you won’t be shot?’

Donald Trump said Wednesday to a group of African American and Hispanic voters that he will make sure when he’s president that they will be able to walk down the street and not be shot. I find nothing wrong with him saying this. But how will he do it? Someone needs to tackle this issue and it won’t be by stealing the tools from the law-abiding citizen.
Seattle Democrats, you need to stand up for the cops
I’m not a Trump supporter but I do give him credit for a few things. At least Trump is talking directly to black people. There are a lot of people in D.C. who aren’t comfortable around our black neighbors. At least Trump is bringing up the issue.
But how can he deliver on this promise?
This is a real concern for all of us. We’ve allowed certain areas of our country to become war zones. But I think Trump really blew it when he didn’t take the opportunity to speak to the NAACP.
We need to have open and honest conversations about how we can begin to tackle the problems in our inner cities.
