Update: Seattle weather record
The latest shattered Seattle weather record was the high temperature mark on Thursday. The Puget Sound region was about 1 degree warmer than the previous record for Sept. 28.

Wednesday and Thursday were also the first-back-to-back late-season days above 80 degrees that the region has experienced in 30 years.
80° temps this late in season are uncommon. Back-to-back days are very rare. Latest back to back occurrence of 80° was 9/30-10/01 of 1987.

It’s not often temperatures reach the 80s this late in the year, but that’s exactly what could happen on Thursday.
The National Weather Service says if we hit 80 on Thursday, it will be the latest in the calendar year we’ve seen such high temperatures since 2003.
Wednesday will likely see temperatures in the high 70s. Thursday may hit 80 or higher. KIRO 7 Meteorologist Nick Allard says the high will be 81 degrees.
“Thursday promises to be the warmest day of the upcoming warm spell as the upper ridge shifts off to the east and offshore flow continues,” the National Weather Service reports.
By Friday, we’ll be back in the high 60s during the day with a chance of rain thanks to a cold front.
Colder weather will “likely persist” into the following week.
