Shower Thoughts: Laughing at the Cohen charging document

Aug 22, 2018, 2:44 PM

Another haze-filled Wednesday is upon us. Let’s jump in the shower and get that smoke smell off. These are a few of the random thoughts I have in the shower.

Speaking of smoke, does the respirator mask do any good if you remove it to take a drag of your cigarette? Just wondering.

I can’t help but have a flashback as I saw the projected path of Hurricane Lane. My thoughts are with the people of Hawaii right now as this Category 5 monster is bearing down on them. It’s not like they can pack up the pets and drive to safety. Being trapped on the island has to be unbearable. I hope there is no loss of life.

Speaking of no life force, you have to love lawyers. My favorite part of the Michael Cohen charging document reads as follows: “In or about January 2017, Cohen left the Company and began holding himself out as the ‘personal attorney’ to Individual-1, who at that point had become the President of the United States.” Hmmm, I wonder who Individual-1 could possibly be? I guess he’ll take that secret to his grave. It’s the biggest political mystery since Deep Throat.

Speaking of dogs, a co-worker is sending me photos of a brand new litter of puppies. PUPPIES! They are so stinking cute, but I don’t think I can deal with a puppy right now. Who’s got time for house training a puppy? Then why have I looked at the ad five times? Puppies.

Also speaking of dogs, I don’t watch every pitch, but I check in on the Mariners almost every game during the dog days of summer. It seems like when they win, they are
3.5 games back in the Wild Card and when they lose, they are 3.5 games back in the Wild Card. Can we have some of what Oakland is drinking?

Speaking of the end of summer, I do wish we had back-to-school shopping for adults. I use to love the optimism I felt getting a fresh start to the year with a new backpack filled with shrink-wrapped pens and pencils. I’d wake up early on the first day with a brand new pair of Nike Bruins on my feet, a new pair of OP pants, and my hair feathered to perfection. I couldn’t wait to find out who was in my homeroom class this year. Maybe I’ll just go buy a new Trapper Keeper for old time’s sake.

That’s it. May your HEPA filter run pure. Shower Thoughts are over for the week.

You can hear “What are we talking about here?” everyday at 4:45 p.m. on 97.3 FM.

After the viaduct is taken down, we'll be left with a choice: What do we do with one of the most beautiful waterfronts in the country?

Sometimes, "gone but not forgotten" isn't always how slain officers are remembered. But in Pierce County, a special effort is being made to commemorate a fallen deputy.
