The charges against Seattle City Council member Kshama Sawant have been dropped.

A judge dismissed the disorderly conduct charges against Sawant on Friday, an employee with the City of SeaTac’s legal department confirmed with MyNorthwest.

Sawant was charged for her role in a minimum wage protest on Nov. 19, 2014 at Alaska Airlines headquarters. Sawant and three others were arrested for blocking the road and refusing to move at the November demonstration near Sea-Tac Airport.

Sawant defended herself in court on Thursday.

But Sawant isn’t out of the weeds. She is in hot water with her Seattle City Council colleagues after she went on a rant about newly-appointed council member John Okamoto’s past.

Okamoto presided over the Port of Seattle when it “was a cesspool of corruption,” she said on Thursday.

Council member Tom Rasmussen called Sawant’s conduct “odious,” KING 5 reported. The Okamoto incident will be addressed at the council meeting on Monday.
