Cold Case: Who Killed Liz Watkins and Her Daughter?

More than 30 years later, a mother and her young daughter are still waiting for justice.

On the afternoon of November 3, 1995, Elizabeth "Liz" Watkins and her young daughter Nicole were bludgeoned to death inside their ground-floor Renton apartment. They were discovered the next day by a family friend — a moment investigators say still haunts everyone who knew them.

Watkins was a student, a devoted mother, and an active member of her church. Friends say there were no debts, no drugs, no dangerous relationships. So who would want to hurt them?

"There's a certain amount of evil in this world… but when it appears that evil just comes out of the shadows, that's disturbing for all of us." — Renton Police Sgt. Russell Radke
