Who Killed Federal Prosecutor Tom Wales?

25 years ago, veteran senior federal prosecutor Tom Wales was gunned down in the basement office of his Queen Anne home. He died the next day. To this day, no one has been arrested.

Wales was a Harvard Law grad who became a U.S. Attorney in Seattle in 1983. He spent nearly two decades prosecuting white-collar crime and was an avid advocate for gun control. He was shot at 10:40 p.m. while working in his home office.

Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound Executive Director Jim Fuda says this case is not cold. The FBI, Seattle Police Department, Department of Justice, and King County Prosecutor's Office are all still actively working it. Investigators believe someone conducted surveillance on Wales, noting that a letter received in 2006 indicated knowledge that his wife was not home at the time of the shooting.

There is a $2.5 million reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
