The Boy Scouts of America have removed a gay scoutmaster from a south Seattle troop.

They took the action against scoutmaster Geoff McGrath after he participated in an NBC News profile where he talked about his attempts to get the Scouts to change their position on homosexuality.

“The impact of discrimination has missed them somehow,” McGrath said in the report.

McGrath founded Troop 98 at Rainier Beach Methodist Church last year and it’s been operating for months.

But the Scouts organization claims he “deliberately injected” his sexuality into scouting by mentioning it publicly, so he’s out.

Last May, the Boy Scouts decided to allow gay scouts, but not gay scoutmasters.
