King County received approval Friday from the Washington State Secretary of Health to enter into Phase 2 of Gov. Inslee’s Safe Start reopening plan.

The county had sent in its application earlier in the week, after operating in a modified Phase 1 since early June.

Phase 2 allows King County restaurants to serve at 50% capacity, while retail will be allowed to operate at 30% capacity. Individuals may also gather with five or fewer people from outside their household per week.

Under the modified Phase 1, the county had been able to operate at half those capacities.

Gyms will be allowed to reopen in Phase 2 as well, provided they meet a series of safety guidelines. Service establishments also have a handful of guidelines they must adhere to.

You can see the full list of what’s permitted to reopen in Phase 2 below, and more details from King County here.

Also receiving the go-ahead to progress through the reopening phases Friday were Island, Lewis, and Mason Counties, which were approved to move into Phase 3.
