Monday afternoon, the state notified the public that William Tolliver is out of prison. In 2020, at 3rd and Pine at rush hour, he was part of a gang shootout that killed a woman and wounded seven others — including a nine-year-old boy who had spent the day at the Pacific Science Center with his family. He served a little more than three years.
Charlie Harger was at the scene that night. Today, he walks through how that case ended in a plea deal, why the other shooter was acquitted on self-defense, and why Olympia has had six years to close the loophole and hasn't.
