How to Support Longview After Deadly Plant Implosion

Eleven workers were lost in the implosion at the Nippon Dynawave Packaging plant in Longview. Jake and Spike are using their platform to lift up the fundraisers, relief funds, and community events organized to support the families left behind.

"The community really needs the loving arms of Washington right now," Spike said. "This community is moving forward as best they can under these horrific conditions, and there are ways that we can reach out and help these families."

Ways to Help:

Lower Columbia Longshoremen's Federal Credit Union Relief Fund — Established by the Cowlitz Wahkiakum Central Labor Council and the Longview/Kelso Building Trades Council. Checks payable to "Cowlitz Wahkiakum Central Labor Council" or "CWCLC." Drop off or mail to 629 14th Avenue, Longview, WA 98632.

Fibre Federal Credit Union & Red Canoe Credit Union — Accepting donations at all branches. Fibre members can donate via mobile app by transferring funds to "788370-02-Community."

Fei's Carriage Restaurant Car Wash — Saturday and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. at Washington Way and Highway 432. All proceeds to the families.

Community BBQ at Bob's Sporting Goods — Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 1111 Hudson Street in Longview. Live music. All proceeds to the relief fund.

Shamrock Bar and Grill — June 7, donating 20% of all gross sales to the relief fund. 1131 15th Avenue, Longview.

Individual fundraisers and meal trains have been set up for the families of Jared Ammons, Jeremy Cochran, CJ Doran, Braydon Finkas, John Forsberg, Brad Covington, Tyler Covington, Dale Miller, and Dillon Miller.

Funds will be distributed by the Association of Western Pulp and Paper Workers Local 153.
