A baby was killed when a car careened over a sidewalk and into the child and her mother.
The crash occurred on 140th Avenue Northeast near Bel-Red Road, according to the Bellevue Fire Department.
The baby was killed after a Dodge Durango and Nissan collided in the intersection. The Nissan was pushed off the road and onto the sidewalk, where a 25-year-old mother and her 2-year-old daughter were standing.
The girl died at the scene. Her mother was taken to a hospital with minor injures.
The driver of both vehicles were taken to Overlake Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Both drivers are cooperating with the investigation. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor, according to Bellevue police.
It was the second vehicle-related fatality of the day. A motorcyclist was killed around 5:30 a.m. on I-5.
