Cops Are Using Facebook to Catch Shoplifters?!
Washington leads the nation in retail theft — 48% more than a state our size should produce, according to Forbes. Meanwhile, the honest people are pressing buttons and waiting for someone with a key to unlock a $6 wrench.
A 33-officer police department in Bonney Lake decided to stop just accepting it. They run a Facebook page called Can You ID Crime, posting surveillance stills and letting the neighbors do what neighbors used to do. The updates keep coming. "Female has been identified."
