Express Tolls Are About to Get Way More Expensive
We're less than a year away from express toll lanes expanding between Renton and Bellevue, and with that comes segmented tolling. That means if you drive from Puyallup to Lynnwood, you won't pay one toll—you'll pay three. One from Puyallup to Renton, another from Renton to Bellevue, and a third from Bellevue to Lynnwood.
At today's prices, that trip could cost up to $45 if you hit the $15 maximum in all three segments. But the Washington State Transportation Commission is considering raising that cap to $18 per segment, which would push the cost to $54.
