Major Delays Coming to the Tacoma Narrows Bridge

The westbound Tacoma Narrows Bridge is 76 years old, and it's showing. Eight major emergency repairs to the expansion joints have been needed since 2024, and the temporary fixes aren't working anymore. Now WSDOT is stepping in with a partial joint replacement in October, requiring two full weeks of lane closures on westbound SR 16.
