Seattle Can't Reopen a Street Because of Paint
A summer street market next to the Paramount Theater has turned into a commuter headache in Seattle. The city shut down 9th Avenue between Pike and Pine for the Market at the Marquee, a weekly event in August organized by the Seattle Convention Center. The street was supposed to reopen September 4.
It's still closed—two weeks later—because the organizer painted about 40 large circles and five massive white stripes on the pavement and can't get the paint off. The road can't reopen until the paint is removed and lane markings are re-established.
