Sound Transit Wants Another $765M for West Seattle Link?
Sound Transit says it needs another $765 million to acquire property and prepare for the light rail extension to West Seattle—but insists the overall project budget won't change.
The Sound Transit Expansion Committee meets today to decide whether to more than double the price tag for acquiring land in the path of the 3.9-mile extension from SoDo to West Seattle. That would push property acquisition and construction support costs from about $738 million to more than $1.5 billion. There are 55 parcels of land inside the expected footprint of the future 3 Line.
